Advising
49erNext students receive academic advising through their community college advisor for the span of the associate degree. Community college academic advisors follow the requirements for their respective college, and incorporate course plans based on UNC Charlotte majors. An example of course plans by major can be found here.
As part of the 49erNext program, students agree to data sharing between their community college and UNC Charlotte. This allows for UNC Charlotte to review individual student course progress and progression, based on major, and communicate student needs or changes to community college academic advisors twice per year. 49erNext guarantees admission to UNC Charlotte for participating students, and utilizes academic data sharing of students to best ensure a seamless transition.
