  • Career competencies – learn how to demonstrate what you have learned about your major above and beyond what was taught in the classroom

To access the career planning and exploration modules:

  1. Log into Canvas.
  2. Enter your NinerNET ID and password.  (If you forgot your NinerNET password, view these instructions to reset your password. )
  3. On your dashboard, select Training49erNext ProgramCareer Preparation
  4. Select Modules

PURCHASING A UNIVERSITY RECREATION (UREC) MEMBERSHIP

  • The membership fee is $25 per semester.
  • You must visit UREC in person to purchase your membership, but you can view membership options here.
  • You will need your 49er ID as well as cash, check or credit/debit card as a form of payment.
  • Sorry, there are no refunds on the UREC memberships, and we cannot prorate the charge for portions of the semester.

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED

  • 49erNext students are not eligible to play Intramural Sports or be a member of a Sport Club.

TICKETS ARE AUTOMATICALLY LOADED ON YOUR ID CARD

FOOTBALL – Jerry Richardson Stadium

  • Present your 49er ID at either Gate 4 or Gate 5 
  • Gates open an hour and a half before kickoff

MEN’S BASKETBALL – Halton Arena

  • Use entrance located near the College of Education building.
  • Opens 1 hour prior to tip-off.

MEN’S & WOMEN’S SOCCER – Transamerica Field

  • Simply present your UNC Charlotte 49er ID at the venue gate beginning 1 hour before the start of the game.

VOLLEYBALL & WOMEN’S BASKETBALL – Halton Arena

  • Simply present your UNC Charlotte 49er ID at the venue gate beginning 1 hour before the start of the game.

BASEBALL – Hayes Stadium

  • Simply present your UNC Charlotte 49er ID at the venue gate beginning 1 hour before the start of the game.

Your CATS all-access transit pass includes unlimited, fare-free rides on the CATS LYNX light rail, streetcar, Special Transportation Service (STS), local and express bus routes.

GETTING YOUR CATS PASS

  • Beginning fall 2024, your CATS All-Access Pass will transition from your 49er ID to the CATS-Pass App. Not to worry, though, your fare-free bus and light rail access is still available with a few minutes of setup.
  • Before heading out to catch a CATS bus or light rail, set up your CATS All-Access Pass. To set up an account, you must use your NinerNET@charlotte.edu email address and create a new password and PIN (This password does not have to match your NinerNET password.). 
  • Students who have paid the Miscellaneous Transportation Service Charge will see their All-Access Pass in their Wallet in the app. 

PURCHASING YOUR CATS PASS

  • Purchase your pass through your MyPark account (the same system through which you may have purchased your parking permit).
  • Pass Cost:  $25 per semester

  • It will take up to 5 days for your 49er ID Card to be activated.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

HOW TO USE YOUR PASS

  • Your 49er ID card will serve as your ticket for all transportation methods. Just show and go on the train and tap and go on the bus. It may take up to five business days for passes to become active on newly issued or reissued 49er ID cards.
  • More information on the light rail schedule and bus schedules is available on the CATS website.
  • Note: Riding the light rail or CATS buses without a paid pass or sharing a pass can result in a $50 fine by the city, subject you to the UNC Charlotte code of conduct, and loss of privileges.

Parking on campus requires a permit or payment of visitor parking fees when the University is open (24 hours day, beginning Monday at 5:00am until Friday at 10:00pm)

49erNext students have access to the UNC Charlotte J. Murrey Atkins Library and its resources.

BOOK AND DVD CIRCULATION

  • 49erNext students may check out books and DVDs from UNC Charlotte’s Atkins Library. A maximum of six items can be checked out at any time. 
  • Books may be checked out for 21 days; DVDs may be checked out for 7 days. 
  • If an item is not overdue and has not been recalled, it may be renewed twice online by logging into your library account with a UNC Charlotte NinerNet username and password.
  • To borrow items from the library, present your 49er ID Card.

ONLINE LICENSED RESOURCES

  • Access to online licensed resources is available for 49erNext students via dedicated computers located in J. Murrey Atkins Library.
  • Resources include online databases and journals.

RESEARCH CONSULTATIONS

  • Students may make appointments for in-depth, subject-specific research help.
  • Subject librarians are available to meet with 49erNext students to provide assistance and support on a wide range of research topics.

Complete this research consultation request form and the appropriate subject librarian will be in contact with you to set up a time to meet at J. Murrey Atkins Library on the UNC Charlotte campus.
